Connect BuildQS to Sage
Export approved payment applications from BuildQS to Sage Accounting as sales invoices. Retention release applications can be exported as separate sales invoices, with analysis types available where configured.
How It Works
- Connect - Link BuildQS to Sage Accounting using Sage's official OAuth authorisation.
- Export - Send approved payment application values to Sage as sales invoices with summary, phase, or task-level line items.
- Review - Use Sage for invoice management, payment tracking, bank reconciliation, and VAT. Refresh invoice status from BuildQS when needed.
What Gets Exported
- Sales invoices - approved payment applications exported to Sage Accounting
- Retention release sales invoices - separate sales invoices for retention release applications
- Contact matching - Sage contacts matched by name or created during export
- Line item modes - export at summary, phase, or task level
- Analysis types - project tagging can be applied where configured in Sage

Common Questions
- Does BuildQS replace Sage?
- No. BuildQS handles payment applications upstream of accounting. Sage remains the accounting system for invoices, payments, bank reconciliation, and VAT.
- Can sales invoices be tagged to projects?
- Analysis types can tag sales invoices where configured in Sage.
- Is the connection secure?
- Yes. BuildQS uses Sage's official OAuth 2.0 flow and never stores your Sage password.
